Najmeh Baghishani is an Iranian-born painter based in Hamilton, Ontario. She holds a Master's degree in Visual Communication from Iran University of Art and has a background in visual design, photography, and storytelling. These experiences continue to inform her painting, where observation, narrative, and visual structure come together.

Her work is rooted in everyday experience. She is interested in how ordinary images slowly acquire emotional weight through repetition, returning to familiar places, photographs, and architectural details over time. Through painting, she explores how certain places and images gradually become inseparable from memory and attention.

Working primarily in oil, alongside drawing and water-based media, Baghishani's paintings are less concerned with documenting specific moments than with asking why certain images continue to linger long after they have been seen.

Her interest in narrative extends beyond painting. She has published short stories in literary magazines and received several national short story awards in Iran.
